We have decided that we are going to have a rating of 15 on our film as it will attract the mass audience of film goers to our film, which is 15-24, we contemplated having an age range of 18, however we thought that cutting out 3 years of the highest film goers would not be a clever thing to do . Also our film is of the thriller genre and atypical to the genre there are no gory images which are in horror movies so we feel we can adequately use 15 as our certificate of age.
We feel with the age of 15 if the trailer were to be on previews before films at the cinema, the mass audience would be able to watch it. The age is not so much a problem on the Internet as trailers are accessible through YouTube without proof of age therefore the age is not as much an issue when publishing out trailer on the Internet. We have decided that publishing on the Internet will be the most plausible option, considering our minute budget, as it is free to publish videos on YouTube.
